EmberWood Center has been recognized as a leader in understanding the unique needs of adolescents facing substance abuse issues. Our Adolescent services include:

  • Outpatient substance abuse treatment for individuals ages 12 to 17.
  • Family support groups for parents/caregivers living with a teen who uses drugs and/or alcohol.
  • Family activities to encourage family support, community involvement, and fun activities that family members can experience together.
  • CAP (Children of Addicted Parents) – Treatment for children or adolescents who have a parent/caregiver currently using or who are in recovery from drugs and/or alcohol.
  • After-care services using a community reinforcement approach.

Our program is based on the Cannabis Youth Treatment Project (CYT), funded by the Center for Substance Abuse Administration, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration, and the US Department of Health and Human Services. The curriculum consists of three basic components: a standard eight-week program, a 15-week program incorporating Relapse Prevention groups, and an extended program that includes various activities designed to support young people in their recovery. If a young person were engaged in all levels of programming, he or she could receive up to 24 weeks of services.

A ten-week Relapse Prevention program for those transitioning from residential treatment or the Department of Corrections is also available. All components include an evidenced-based combination of Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

In addition, we utilize the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach and the Assertive Continuing Care models to provide additional support services and access to activities designed to help young people remain alcohol and drug free.

Our doors are open from 9 AM to 9 PM, providing daytime and evening hours to accommodate various schedules. For additional information about EmberWood Center’s transformational work with adolescents, please contact us today at (317) 536-7100.
